Jaya Bachchan believes in speaking her mind. Never the one to take indiscipline, the veteran actress lost her cool recently when speaking to students at Mumbai’s Narsee Monjee college.
Jaya, the wife of Amitabh Bachchan, was in conversation with journalist Bhawana Somaaya at the college’s festival, Umang. Once the media persons and students started clicking both of them, Jaya lost her cool and asked them to stop.
“Please stop taking pictures. I hate it because it’s right into my eyes. These are basic manners which Indians have to learn. Just because you have a camera and a mobile, you get the freedom of take anyone’s picture anytime, without asking that person! These are basic educations that all colleges and schools and parents at home should teach their children,” she said.
She went on to add, “It’s very annoying. I have a freedom to say no from being photographed. I am trying to chat here. You are sitting right in front of me clicking right into my eyes. I hate indiscipline.”
She also told the gathered people that she knew she is sounding like a grandmother. “I’m sorry for sounding like a great-grandmother but that’s what I am,” the 68-year-old actress said at NM college’s annual festival. She then told the students to finish clicking pictures and only then she will begin the discussion.
Amitabh, probably among the most cool-headed people in Bollywood, also lost his temper at a website that used his images without permission.
