It is not uncommon for teenagers to try drugs or drink alcohol in their teenage years. For some they may experiment and make the positive choice but, there are also those who become dependent on drugs or alcohol. It’s important that you, as a parent, understand these reasons and talk to your kids about the dangers of drinking and using drugs.
Each drug user will have different reasons for using drugs. Following are some common reasons people have for using drugs.

For some children teenage can be a very difficult phrase in their life. Those who doesnot socialize much often tend to get bored.Often bored teen are 50 percent more likely than not often bored teens to smoke, drink, and use illegal drugs. Teens who can’t talk to their parents are more likely to feel isolated, and use drugs.It provides them a platform to be free and interact with others too.

Parents and teacher tends to spend most of their time to troubled child and as a result other child may feel neglected.So they start to do things which they are not allowed or taught not to use. Its their way of showing anger and frustration.Loneliness and depression raise emotional pressure, and some teens seek chemical solution for this problems.

Well it is a very common in teenage to get into peer pressure.They try to impress their friend and to please them they can do anything.


Teenagers are curious about having new experiences. Seeing someone doing drugs makes them more curious to know how drugs will make them feel. It is important that kids are kept away from this type of environment.

A little reading can save a lot of suffering. Teens who are not aware of the consequences of the drugs are more likely to use drugs than others. For this reason government and social organizations spend millions of dollars each year to raise the awareness about drugs. In their minds, they see drug use as a part of the normal teenage experience.

Many shy teenagers who lack confidence report that they’ll do things under the influence of alcohol or drugs that they might not otherwise. . And alcohol and other drugs tend not only to loosen your inhibitions but to alleviate social anxiety. Not only do you have something in common with the other people around you, but there’s the mentality that if you do anything or say anything stupid, everyone will just think you had too many drinks or smoked too much weed.

Teenagers see lots of people using various substances. They see their parents and other adults drinking alcohol, smoking, and, sometimes, abusing other substances. Also, the teen social scene often revolves around drinking and smoking pot. Sometimes friends urge one another to try a drink or smoke something, but it’s just as common for teens to start using a substance because it’s readily available and they see all their friends enjoying it.
