Police have been deployed in the crash site, which is some 45 kilometers from the capital city Kathmandu. Captain Ranjan Limbu was piloting the helicopter, which was bringing a patient to the capital from Gorkha district of Western Nepal.

“The circumstances indicate that hilltop spots in the region were covered by thick cloud when the accident occurred,” an AT C officer said, adding that the pilot might have lost control after entering the turbulence between the two hills before hitting a mountain.
