Early life

Susil Koirala was born on August 12, 1939 in the Biratnagar City. He is the son of Kumindi Koirala and Bodh Prasad Koirala born into a family that included three Nepali prime ministers: Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Girija Prasad Koirala, and Matrika Prasad Koirala. He is the cousin brother of former prime ministers of Nepal namely Matrika Prasad Koirala, Girija Prasad Koirala and B.P Koirala. He has three sisters and five brothers from his parents. Sushil Koirala is 75 years of age as of 2014 and is still serving the nation being a loyal servant of nation from the position of Prime Minister of Nepal. He was a descendant of the famous Koirala family of Nepal. He was known very popular in politics. Three of his cousins namely Girija Prasad Koirala, Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala too served as Prime Minister of Nepal at different points of time. Before Fame

He began his political career in the mid 1950s and, during the 1960s and 1970s, was forced to seek political asylum in India. While In India, he edited a political publication titled Tarun.

Personal Life

Sushil Koirala as man of high thinking and simple living. Everybody called “Susil daa” for Koirala because he remained unmarried till his whole life and neither known to have any relationship with any women. He had simple life and he never deserves high standard life. He always set his image towards the people as a good Ideal. According to an official website of the Nepal government, there was no property in the name of Sushil Koirala. He himself declared his three mobile phones to be his assets.

He was fondly called ‘Sushil daa’. Sushil Koiala was a heavy smoker and in 2006 became a victim of tongue cancer and in June 2014 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. On February 10, 2016 he suffered from pneumonia.

Sushil Koirala is a self educated leader, thus does not own any formal academic qualifications and certificates. He is full of every knowledge through the experiences as well. Leader Sushil Koirala believes that honesty is the power of the politicians and has taken the simple life in current political circle. He is known for his simple tastes and life.

His Career and Achievment

He started his career by joining the Nepali Congress Party. He was highly inspired by the social and democratic principles of the ‘Nepali Congress’ that led him to join politics in his teens in 1954. All his cousin brother and sister are involved in the congress party before so then Susil Koirala also became member in the congress party. Susil Koirala is an Nepalese Politician and a former of prime Minister of Nepal. He stayed 16 years political exile from Nepal in India following the royal takeover in 1960. He has also spent three years of prison in India for his involvement in a 1973 plane hijack. He was a member of the Central Working Committee of the party since 1979 and been the General Secretary of the party in 1996 and Vice President in 1998. In 2008, Sushil Koirala was appointed as the acting president for the Nepali Congress Party by the then President Girija Prasad Koirala. On September 22, 2010, after the death of President Girija Prasad Koirala, the 12th general convention of the Nepali Congress elected him as the party president. Under the leadership Sushil Koirala, Nepali Congress emerged as the largest party in the 2013 Constituent Assembly elections.

Besides, being a political leader, Sushil Koirala has also served as a journalist. He was the editor of the Tarun, the Party’s mouthpiece. There are many articles written by him which are based on advocating the democratic socialism. As per the political reasons, he has visited several countries representing Nepal which includes Great Britain, United States of America, France, China, India and other European countries. After Sushil Koirala been the Prime Minister of Nepal, there was a huge rumor that he once wanted to be an actor in Hollywood.

Promulgating a constitution through the CA is the biggest political achievement of Sushil Koirala. Another success of his is maintaining a lifelong clean image, which is rare among Nepali politicians.

At Last Susil Koirala was died at mid night due to phenomena. He was died but he still remembers due to its contribution for the Nepal and known by simple living. He was gone by leaving every memory that he was done for the country. He struggle lots to make a New Constitution and finally he succeed to bring New Constitution in Nepal.
